Asus ZenFone 3 Series to Launch in India Today

Asus is set to launch its ZenFone 3 series of smartphones in India today, with the company holding an event at 4pm in New Delhi.

The 'Z3nvolution India' event in the national capital will be attended by Asus CEO Jerry Shin. Asus had first unveiled the ZenFone 3 series in May at a Taipei event just ahead of Computex 2016. At that event, three smartphones were unveiled - the ZenFone 3, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and the ZenFone 3 Ultra.
The Taiwanese consumer electronics giant has in the following months launched three other ZenFone 3 smartphones - with a Snapdragon 821 variant of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe in July, apart from the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Max, also in the same month. This would make it five models and one variant till date.

We can expect India price for the Asus ZenFone 3 series to be around the Taiwanese price. At launch, the Asus ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) was priced starting $249 (roughly Rs. 16,800), Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) was priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 33,600), and the ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) was priced at $479 (roughly Rs. 32,200). As for the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Max, Asus had first launched them in Vietnam, where they were priced at t VND 5,990,000 (roughly Rs. 18,000) and VND 4,490,000 (approximately Rs. 13,500) respectively.
Asus has this year gone with several different screen sizes instead of sticking to 5.5-inches as it had for most models in the ZenFone 2 series. While the ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Laser feature 5.5-inch full-HD displays, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) sports a 5.7-inch full-HD display; the ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) comes a 6.8-inch full-HD display, and the ZenFone 3 Max bears a 5.2-inch full-HD IPS LCD display.
All the ZenFone 3 models unveiled thus far share some common characteristics, such as metal bodies, a fingerprint sensor, variants don a full metal design makeover, and fingerprint support embedded on the back of the phones. All the models support hybrid dual-SIM slots, and come with an 8-megapixel selfie camera - except for the ZenFone 3 Max. It is as yet uncertain which models the company will bring to India. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for price and availability details of the ZenFone 3 series from the event.
